Re: back-up switch


Sure, you can always use a switch to turn them on, even if the
transmission doesn't have a plugged hole for one.  You need a light
to show the switch is on so you don't forget to turn them off.  You
might do better using a relay operated from the ignition circuit
rather than adding the light current to the ignition switch circuit.
How about those neat Beetle bumper mounted ones?  ('65 doesn't have
a clear panel in the rear lights, does it?)
