Not that I think you should do it, but a supercharger puts a *lot* more stress on the system than a turbo; and although I don't know for sure, I'm sure the standard rod & main bearings on a VW won't handle that kind of punishment for very long. I'm sorry I missed it, but what do you mean by roadster?
