Forwarded from Aaron as he has no time to read all the Type 3 messages anymore, at least for a while. How many of us use a 23 window as a rolling storage shed?? Keith ---------- From: Aaron Britcher[SMTP:abritcher@ezinet.com.au] Sent: Tuesday, November 03, 1998 5:47 AM To: Park, Keith J (CRD) Subject: Re: hows that notch??????????? Well Keith, yeah it is getting warmer here, like 30 degrees which is good. Any hotter and the VW's start to lose it! The roller bearing motor is almost back together for the 'S'. All NOS parts as usual including the SPG 74mm crank. Will fire it up in a week or so. Finished off the full flow today with earls fittings and lines and Berg pump with relief pump cover. with only absolutely minimal clearancing of the fan housing. Those fittings etc look the balls! Who ever keeps saying full flow on a type 3 (there are a lot on the type 3 list) have no idea as this one has been the easiest of all and that is using slightly larger fittings (earls/aeroquip/speedflow) fittings aren't exactly small like brass fittings that Berg uses (and I did in the past). all are -8 for your info. If you want the low down on how I did it with minimal clearancing and no tinware cutting etc give a holler. Yes the PV is costing a small fortune even without including the NOS panels etc because it is show quality (like Hot Rod show) inside and out. I didn't plan on it being that good but I hate doing things by halves, hence all the NOS parts I have to buy (or else where would they go?)...... Anyway I am indeed very poor and to keep me from walking the streets like a bum I am building a a few engines for friends and myself (just about finished my 1916cc too). The 2276 is still a ways off as I don't have the heads (I can't afford the heads more like...). I am also cleaning up the 23 window microbus I found a while back and using it as a rolling garage for all my brake and tin ware parts that I rarely need and dont need in my clean as a whistle garage home here! I hate dirty parts- Icky! Well I must get some Xmas cards happening too! Until the next mail, Keep the notch turning those heads! Aaron. Send my regards to the Type 3 list and apologise for my adsence if you like! Tell -em what the PV and 'S' are progressing to... ------------------------------------------------------------------- List info at http://www.vwtype3.org/list or mailto:help@vwtype3.org
