Synthetic fibers in the filter need synthetic oil and natural fibers need the standard petroleum oils. Otherwise there could be a meltdown of the synthetic fibers causing a caustic gas that will induce a pinging in most of the cylinders, especially those with the earlier engines with the brass valve seats. Also this will cause the compression ratio of the O2 sensor to become unstable and would throw off the Hydrogen-Oxide regulator. A retorquing of the valve seats to 84 Ft.Lbs will alleviate this problem. BTW, I think 5W30 for the 1600 motors and SAE 30 for the 1500's are the correct weights.
