well, today i set about installing my new (used) injectors and discovered that i had a pretty major oil leak - lots of oil sitting on op of the case around the cooler, etc. so i replaced the injectors (with new seals) and then took a closer look at where the 'oil' leak was coming from. it was fuel. doh. the line from the pressure regulator that goes to the air distributor had come out on the bottom of the air distributor and so was quite hard to notice. anyway, that probably explains the crappy running and the 10-12mpg. seems to be running ok now, so i guess that the original injectors probably weren't any worse than these ones (didn't have a helper to start the car while i would watch for a cone-shape spray, but i'll check these ones and the other side 'sometime'). i guess i'm very fortunate not to have a burnt out hulk of steel. i'm glad the engine was covered in oil in the first place - helped to dilute the fuel. hopefully it'll take me on a 400 mile round trip this w/end. sonny
