Re: Oil Pressure and Synthetic

First off ....NO

Secondly if Synthetic is less viscous then you'll get less oil pressure,
simple physics, but will the better (supposedly) properties of the synth make
up for this in the lubrication?? Personally I just freak too much seeing my
needle low to put up with low press anyhow.

One thing that I couldn't get a clear answer on way back when was if you have
10W40 synth.. is it the same viscosity as 10W40 dino oil under the same
conditions?? in other words.. like a 40 wgt hot and a 10wgt cold?? MY
application resulted in a resounding NO to that question and very low
oil pressure.

Remember.. all else held constant, the more viscous the oil, the higher the
pressure and the better protection you get.
