Anyone Going to the Grossglockner ACVW Rally??

Greetings to all of you still cooled by air,

Who is going to the Grossglockner (GroBglockner) Rally in Austria on the
weekend of the May 21 - 24? If possible, maybe some of you from the list
(or lists -- I sent this to both the T3 and VingtagVW) would like to get
together for a beer, chat and chips?

I know of one other T3 lister who is planning on going (the one and only
Mr. Visser).

My wife and I will arrive Friday evening in our freshly restored metallic
grass green '72 convertible named "Franjo" (a good Croatian name) with gold
on blue license plates. We vyed for the convertible because our '65
Variant will be escorting us on a 300km Oldtimer Rally this weekend.

Off the point.... Last year, we drove from Warsaw, Poland to the TIII
rally in Amsterdam and five of us from the list met for the first time. It
is quite interesting meeting people that to date were only known by their
posts (and sinceI post so infrequently, I am almost a non-entity). Anyway,
it is always good fun to meet others from the list.

Like last year, I'll bring the Doritos!

Also, for those of you who have some extra time, the Rolling Stones will
play in Zagreb on May 28. So if the GroBglockner rally brings you in a
southerly direction, you may want to swing down to the Adriatic for a few
days and then to Zagreb for the Stones. Just an idea....

Finally, the GroBglockner Rally is sponsored by the Dutch Air-Cooled VW
club. There is an informational club webpage that most certainly is
accessible through Pim van Loon's site or directly through the ACVW Club of
Holland site at: http://www.mousetrap.net/~lvwcn/

Take care,

John
