Around these parts, the tool that Toby E. described (flexible coil, four tong/fingers) is, I believe, called a Sneaky Pete. All apologizes to the Petes on the list. I had the same thing happen to me, although I didn't have the cylinders or pistons on yet, and I did the hold upside down, shake it a bunch to get my washer out. I suppose that mine was quite a bit lighter. I forget exactly what the washer belonged to, but that's my input. And speaking of my rebuild, after 5 or 6 successful startups and even driving 6.1 miles, my newly rebuilt engine locked up. So it's nice to know that I am not the only one in the "re-rebuild" category on this list. I'll keep the list updated on what I find in the next few weeks as I start disassembly again, or we can have a list-wide guessing contest as to the cause. I will be out of town for a few days, but I'll give more details as time allows. Bryan
