Rubbers, ramblings and religious experiences

Another note on old rubber... like the NOS mud flaps...
this rubber is so old now that it doesnt have much forgiving left. I mounted
mine and they all cracked around the screw points so use washers, be careful,
and carefully consider if its worth all that $$ and drilling holes in your
fender for.

The alignment caster shims... well.. turns out they squashed the rubber collers
down so far on the back of the axle beam that I only got a mm or 2 of actual
shim and therefore the .6deg change in Caster. SO.. I need shims with larger
surface area OR Aaron Britcher is looking into getting Urethane ones made and
PERHAPS make thicker ones for shimming purposes (Go Aaron!)

WCM finally made good on sending me the wrong side moulding kit. Ive been
patient for 8 months or so and Roger finally dug up a stainless kit for me.
BOY it was almost a religious experience opening this kit!! VERY VERY rarely
does one find the repro BETTER than the original but the stainless not only
had better finish but naturally is MUCH more durable than the original
aluminum. I now have wide rocker peices that I can use! I dont think this
is what they can generally supply but it IS out there. Im very happy with
them at the moment.. so happy in fact.. that I'll wait for the crack in the
windsheild rubber to get a bit bigger before I whine again!
