Oh, forgot to add (Hey Mr. Parks, yer slippin'! ;) 1. What is the compression ratio? If it's really close to 8.0 (non-stock) or higher then that is a definite place of extra heat generation. 2. Have you adjusted the timing? Wrong timing (is it too much?) can cause the engine to run warmer than normal as well.
