Hi guys I'm looking for some advise and a few two cents worth. When I took my car out for it's first real drive (+15 miles on highway) after i bought last fall, it developed a terrible noise from the rear end. I limped it home, bought the fabled 17mm alen key wrench, and checked the trani fluid level, almost 1 quart low?!? [this was the beginning of my love of PO's] fillled the trani, ran the car for 6 months, checked it again, a little less than .5 quarts low. Refilled... now the sides of the trani are Wet!, oil leaking, small puddle after the car sits for a week. {note: the company that installed the trani for the PO 1.5 years ago, is notorious for cheating people, thier logo is a wooden nickel} Is there a chance that i can just tighten the side cover plates on the IRS trani or does it need a proffessional? 2. when do you have to rework the univeral joints on the axels? ned '69 squareback
