I really like the way my circlip pliers work for escutcheons.  
However, my circlip/snapring pliers are one of those tools that
came with the big toolbox that my dad had before he passed away;
he was a cummings diesel mechanic until 1979... 

But they are snapring pliers and they do an awesome job on 
the dash switches in my '69 and my '66.
