T3: Speedo cable

Hi there!

Quassie's speedo cable made the same noise a few months ago untill 
one day when it suddenly stopped.......stopped working that is!
It broke off right at the wheel. Now as you propably know spare parts 
for T3 doesn'n exist in the sunny South-Africa. Is there a 
replacement T1 part that will fit my '69 []?
