Just want to add that do not attempt to put the speedo cable back to check
if the noise went away. Do as Wojciech did before connecting the cable back.
I lean the hard way. I connect the cable back went I had the same annoying
noise and end up with a frozen speedo, yup, I could not even use a small
flat tip screwdriver to turn the darn thing, it was gone! HTH.
