Yikes!! My speedo was making so much noise this morning I was afraid it was going to set fire from friction! At higher speed, it was like a howling noise. If I got above 50MPH it would start, and continue making noise even if I slowed down. So I stopped and undid the cable. The speedo was working, as was the odometer, but it was making noise. This is a VDO speedo of course, probably not the original one in a '66 squareback. I know there were a few messages about this problem. What should I expect it to be? I have a feeling it is not the cable. I might go and pull it and take it apart on my lunch hour. What kind of lubricating oil is best for this kind of device? I have a feeling that it's something like that. -- g-r-a-t-e-f-u-l-l-y---[ email:<fishbowl@conservatory.com> ]---l-i-v-i-n-g d-e-a-d-i-c-a-t-e-d---[ http://www.conservatory.com/ ]-----l-i-g-h-t Eternity is a terrible thought.
