Stan, David and others,
Good suggestions and ideas, thanks! My jack lifts just over 15" (one of my
minimum requirements for my low-to-the-ground vehicles) but its cup is only
about 2 1/5" in diameter. I've been wanting ramps for some time and this
is a good enough excuse to get 'em, plus I will definitely need them when
reinstalling my front [after-market] sway bar.
I think a 4x4 under each heat exchanger joined together with a thick piece
of plywood will be used to support the engine. I believe my jack cup comes
off and if it doesn't I'm a Master of Improvising and Adapting (a black
belt, if I may brag a little :) and will find a work-around (good idea,
David). I was thinking of making a border, a path if you will, for the
drivetrain to follow and moving it all on a layer of BBs or marbles...
To keep damage to a minimum I'll remove the engine first and set it aside
then remove the tranny. Depending upon my confidence and removal
experience I may try to install the tranny and engine as one unit. Hey,
lining up those splines should be easier this way! :)
