T3: re-chroming bumpers

My dad bought me a used front and rear bumper from a '64 Square for my '63
project.  They are less dented and rusty than my original ones, but the guy
at the rechroming shop quoted my dad $200 per bumper to fix the dents and
rechrome them.  Does this sound normal?  Has anyone had this done or can
you suggest cheaper of do-it-yourself ideas?
