Hey All, I was ready to trade my husband in as Type 3's are becoming a MAJOR Obsession. BUT this time, I think he did well and I was wondering if anyone saved those mailings from a while back about Type 3 in movies? My husband just acquired another Squareback. At least this one runs (drove it 70 miles to home). Its a 1971, Orange and fully automatic, rubber in excellent condition. Needed upholstery, some minor body work, fuel lines replaced and a thorough cleaning! The previous owner (In rehab - portrayed the red monster guy in Power Rangers) rented it out to the movie studios The girlfriend was getting evicted and wanted to sell the square cause she would get nausous driving it. Turned out they didn't have the engine cover on, just thrown in the back. Said the movie studio would send over a truck to pick up the car and paid $100/day, if you drove the car over they would pay $200/day and might want you to be in the movie as an extra for additional $150/day. I thought "Yeah, right" until my husband called the contact and she wants us to forward a picture of our '71 yellow fastback. Said Type 3's are highly desired, in STOCK CONDITION and especially yellow in color. Not bad considering we paid $500 for the car, including the studio contact. Anyway, The agent said it had been up for the part in Father's day, but they choose a Volvo instead. Probably cause the Squareback had been side swiped <-Minor damage. Now, I want to find a movie that this car might have been in. Anyone remember seeing a orange SB??
