hello vw land,
got a few questions for everyone. i am stationed in germany and i am
kinda out of the loop when it comes to parts in the states. well how
hard is it to find sunroof cables for a type-3?? it went to a vw
dealership and they quoted me $4.00 a set. doesnt that seem rather
cheap. nothing for a type-3 is that cheap!! i am going to check with
j=him again and find out if that was the correct price. if so and they
are hard to find let me know if anyone needs them i will be happy to
send them out. next question..... shipping cars back to the states. has
anyone dealt with this??? i am going to ship about three to four cars
home 49 split,68 ghis vert, 77 doublecab, and 61 notch if i ever find
it.
what about converting it over so it will pass customs. all the cars are
european specs. i know pre 65 nothing needs to be done and every year
after gets a little more difficult. does anybody know the rules?? if
anyone is wondering if i tracked the 61 notch down the answer is no. i
am getting closer though. i found out where the old guy lives but he
has moved since then. i have a phone number to call him and i got
conformation that he did take a notchback with him. do not know if it is
the 61 or a later model! is this becoming a soap opera or what?? more
