transaxle klunk please help

my car has been making this strange and scary noise.  it started making tje
noise after a night if drinking and doing donuts in the poor notchback.(i know
it was a stupid thing to do).  anyways, the transaxle stared to make this
strange klunk the next day. it only makes the noise when im making a turn in
first or second gear.  it goes fine on a straightaway.  it feels like its
winding up then KLUNK it'll pop and thats it until i stop and start from first
gear again.  i havent had the time to start to tear things apart and find the
prob, so its just been sitting for the last three weeks, probabally with a
dead battery now..  if anybody thinks they might know what it might be feel
free to throw in your two cents.. thanks alot......
