The 71 sounds correct. The beading dives down to the bottom of the "groove" next to the hood, so you should be able to see it there if you open the hood. These pieces should each consist of one long piece, one per side in front. The one in your 70 was probably left off when someone replaced the fender. The beading shrinks with time and can be VERY hard to reinstall when it is old. NEVER try to do this in cold weather. The hotter the better.
