Really nicely done, well detailed post. I would suggest that one way
to help determine the correct fit, however, would be to carefully
measure and write down the distances (both sides) between the fender
mounting holes adjacent to your sawcuts on both the donor and repair
car. Then when you are putting things back together, you can just
measure this spacing as you close in on the final postion.
I would still check everything with the hood in the end as you
suggest.
