The only way this area will ever rust is if the FI computer is not 
installed correctly or if the rear door seal is shot.  The door seal 
is an obvious thing, but almost no one knows that the computer 
mounting plate has two spring clips that pull it snugly against the 
bodywork and seal the opening.  These are 100% incorrectly installed.

Unless you KNOW what I'm talking about and installed your computer 
yourself, each of you should put this on your immediate to-do list.
