near NOS early dash...

Hi,

        Im going to look at a near NOS early(->65) hopefully tomorrow,
        and was wondering what I should look for. Its from germany, and like
        I said its near NOS. He said it has raised ends to match the top of
        the door? Sound right? The gentleman's business is called VW Haus,
        out of San Jose, CA. Any ideas, opinions, or whatever?? 
        Id like to know, before I plunk down a pretty penny.......
