hard starting FI cars.

Symptom:  hard starting.. notably flooding when hot, crank alot and need to hold the accelerator to
the floor to get it to start

AND/OR

alot of cranking to start in the morning, not flooding but just slow to fire.

Have these symptoms??  I did  and noticed my fuel pressure on occation 
would go to 45 PSI while cranking then slowly come down once started. Other times it would leak down
quickly and take alot to pump back up.  this lead me to think of a check valve in the press regulator
going bad.  I changed the 
fuel pressure regulator and all is well now.
