This car was based on a Type 1 chassis and had an upright Type1 engine as well. I have only ever seen one in the flesh and this was in a sorry state in a scrap yard in Portugal. The other cars that you are refering to could have been the Variant II or the Gol? I apologize if any of this info is wrong.
