Brake pedal spring??

Hi,

Another question.....is there a certain position the spring on the pedal assy.
needs to be in?? I got my clutch cable hooked back up.... but now the brake
pedal seems really mushy! I flicked the spring around with my finger and its
loose....should it be any play, or none at all?

if its not one thing....its another!!
