JonG=> good shows coming up here in the western U.S. The VW show season is suspended in AZ until the heat subsides, but there are a couple of things you might like to plan for farther down the line. The Arizona Bus Club will host its annual show in Jerome AZ on September 19 and 20. This is widely recognized as one of the best parties in the Southwest, and has been growing every year. Get there on Friday afternoon if you want a good camping spot. Amenities are few and vegetation pretty much nonexistent -- you're in the parking lot of an abandoned copper mine turned tourist trap. Be warned that the party can be wild and goes all night. Also look for the annual Buses and Balloons event October 3-4 near Albuquerque NM. Steven Ayres, Prescott AZ
