It is summer and I should be cruising in my T3, but no, another endless project... Here are some developments that I thought ya'll might find interesting/usefull. After chipping and wire wheeling the rusty floor pans, I've finaly coated them with "POR-15" (This is some crazy cool stuff). I got gloss, but I would recommend the semi-gloss for factory look. Used maybe one pint out of the $30 quart jar for the whole pan. I had the first test when it rained and I left the clogged-hose dash vents open and it flooded. There's now a huge lake of pristine water (ie. no more rust). When I was removing the interior, I was able to chip out the black floor insulation in one piece. I used the original piece from under the rear seat as a template. Then I cut new ones from doubled up roofing tar paper. It looks great (not that anyone will see it), and I swear the original stuff saved my battery floor from rust. Wherever the insulation was still stuck to the floor, was untouched by rust. I'm now trying to get my repainted pedal cluster back in the car. The clutch cable is not cooperating. Haynes suggests one person making slack at the tranny end, and the other hooking it onto the pedal lever. Problem is, when I'm working on the car, the "other person" is watching the baby... I suppose it is time to learn the "how to replace adjust a clutch" method. Peter Parker '66 Square; Phillip Portland, OR
