Re: upright engines in a type3


Here we go again, get the Alka-Seltzer out!  You see this sort of
thing done by folks who really don't understand how the TIII is
engineered and don't want to learn.  The guy that built it, unless he
stuck an awful lot of iron underneath the pan, is going to have a
bending body in  a very short time.  The TI engine is probably in
there so that an existing performance block could be used, lots more
hot TI engines out there than TIII.  It's probably going to have a
short but very merry life if the guy drives it much, I wouldn't give
odds on the engine life.  It's sucking intake and cooling air right
out of the hot engine compartment.  There's a reason for all the duct
work in there.  6 months from now, it'll be spare parts.  I suppose
the guy could leave the lop down and the rear seat out, it'll probably
get cool air that way.    End of rant.
