I got a call back from Kymco in response to my faxed query related to
last week's thread on their 6V-diameter 12V generators. Ron tells me
that they had some trouble with their *Type 1* generators because the
armatures were often rewound too many times, and so they've pulled back
from the generator market in general for the time being, but they've
been very happy with the performance of their Type 3 conversion. He says
the T3 cooling system works much better for generators than the T1, and
claims they've had no returns or complaints whatever and they stand
behind the T3 product 100%.
Optimists: It might be worth a call to see whether they still have any left
in stock.
Pessimists: Has anybody heard a first-person account of trouble with
these generators?
