Gene Berg has a setup for the T3. I would recommend their oil pressure relief
cover as well (it limits the oil pressure output to ~125psi). It can be
installed without tearing apart the engine (GB has instructions on how to do
this). Very smart, and good, move!
Why the desire for an extra capacity sump? If you are staying stock there is no
need for one. An extra sump is best for off-road, racing and bigger engines --
a stock setup will gain no benefits (unless you plan on autocrossing your
Square...).
The sump I have is a Gene Berg unit and it can be easily installed. If you ever
changed the brake shoes on a brake drum then you can install it yourself.

Who makes an Oil Filter kit for (71) VW Squareback F.I. I noticed that
many manufacturers list "except T3". I would love to fit my engine with a
clean system and possibily a sump for more oil. Any thoughts on using 1
1/2 quart sumps?
Thanks, Matt
