MrRebel666, If you have carbs, this recommendation comes from John Muir's book "How to Keep Your Volkswagen Alive". Under the topic 'Electromagnetic Cut-Off Jet' Mr. Muir writes, 30 PICT carburetor & all carbs since: This is another one of the engineering dreams gone wrong. They changed the carburetor to provide a little more fuel at the jets & found that with the high temperature in the engine, the ---- thing would run without ignition until the gas in the jet was run out_ after the ignition was shut off. This was embarrassing, but instead of going back to the old carburetor, they stuck in an electromagentic cut-off jet right under the chock, which shuts off the fuel to the jet. You can check it easily by turning on the key & pulling the wire to it off & touching right back again. You should hear a slight click, that's all. If it fouls up, put a new one on if you like but VW sales a screw in jet to takes its place. It just screws in the hole (tape the wire) & remember that your engine might run a second or two after you turn off the key.(Of course yours already does this). Stop it by putting it in gear & you will have a nice little pile of gas ready to go in the jet when you get back from the store. BTW this is an absolutely wonderful book that I would highly recommend getting. I have Bentley & Haynes, but Muir's is very well illustrated, simple to understand & humorous. Hope this helps, Tom '68 FB(Thumper) On Sat, 31 Jan 1998 17:48:10 EST MrRebel666@aol.com writes: >my first question is how many of you have a running on problem?
