I am getting ready to replace both front disc brake calipers on my '70 Fastback (one of them has a badly scored piston and housing). I am looking into replacing both calipers with new--not rebuilt--Brazilian (Varga brand) units that are available from a local supplier. Two concerns: 1. I hear a lot of negative press about Brazilian parts in general. Does anybody have personal experience (pro or con) with these "Varga" brand calipers? 2. These replacement calipers are slightly different from the ones on the car. The replacement ones look bigger and have two (instead of one) bleeder valves each. The VW part no. on the box is 311.615.107/108. Based on the part no., are these calipers for the 1972+ cars, as described in my Bentley manual? If so, can they be used on my '70 without changing out the pads or making any other modifications? I appreciate the help! -Mark Houston, TX ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
