Yep, you had it right the first time...people keep talking about Bill and
Steve's, but I think T3Ds are the ones with the real audacity here. I've
never dealt with them because their prices are so ridiculous. I bet for
2/3 of the cost they charge for any given part you could have the thing
professionally fabricated. I've been fortunate enough to find a lot of
needed stuff in the B&S "Bargain" bin (check out their website for sale
deals)...like a $25 complete carpet set, $50 set of complete T-3
upholstery, etc...not to mention that they often have hard-to-find parts
like the automatic tranny vac. modulator. In the future, however, I'll
make sure I'm talking to either Bill or Steve...if I one of their
underlings would've insulted my late model fasty he might've found himself
searching for a new set of tires (no doubtedly with 1" sidewall to fit the
Borbet Type C's he bought for his Golf GL-turned-GTI-lookalike) for his
ride. You should've laid him out right there (verbally)...if I received
that treatment over the phone from a pimply-faced high school kid I
would've had to say something like:
"Excuse me, did I call 'F * ckups'? If I called 'F * uckups' I'd expect to
talk to you...but since I called 'Bill & Steve's' I suggest you put one of
them on the phone."
OK ok...just venting a little mid-day angst ;-)

Subject: [T3] Gravel Guards
In case anyone else has tried to find this URL:
Web site: HTTP://www.wildhq.demon.co.uk/t3d
This is for the Type 3 Detectives
I emailed them about their repro gravel guards (I believe they are
Stainless)
"Price on the gravel guards is 85 pounds plus V.A.T."
By my calculations this works out to about $144 - is this right? Are these
guys makin' money? Wow. Or did I do the math backwards, and this would be
$50?
