The VERY first thing I learned about them is to ONLY talk to Bill or Steve. Their counter boys are tools and dont have a friggin clue. seriously...it's not even funny. when showing them (bill actually) a picture of katie's wrecked squareback, one of their counter boys had the nerve to say (right in front of katie all bruised, swollen, broken nosed and full of stitches from the crash) "it's only a late model, they're a dime a dozen, that's not worth more than $100"..........that was pretty much the last straw. You'd think they'd be interested in us fixing it (well, bill said it was fixable) since we were going to need a but load of parts, but like I said before, quality service is beyond them. me..."can I get a pair of your late model T3 clear turn signal lenses?" counter boy "sure, that'll be $35" ...3 hours pass me...<ring ring ring>" Hi I just bought some clear turn signal lenses there and they dont fit, have you had this problem in the past?" differnt counter boy..."did you buy indian lenses or german ones?" me... "you tell me, doesnt say anywhere what they are" different counter boy..."you probably have german housings and bought indian lenses.......of course they wont fit" me..."why the F*$% would I have indian housings when I can get german ones at any junk yard for $5 each?" blah blah blah..............their service leaves something to be desired. But I dont shop there any more. They really arent all that special and their "holier than thou" attitude is too much for me. As for Bill and Steve........Bill can be moody, but knows just about anything you need to know. He'll help you if you can get him on the phone. Ask for him, seriously becasue the counter tools arent going to help you at all. I've only met Steve at the local shows and he's been the nicest person you'll ever meet. It'd be heaven to get him on the phone in my opinion. As far as the yard goes................they certainly dont have one at their new location. They're more of just a new parts seller. They have a few glass displays full of way too expensive rare parts and that's about it. As far as I've seen at least. I dont know of Bill and Steves selling used parts like you're looking for. I'd recommend Type 3 Detectives for the really hard parts. Katie's become pretty good internet friends with paul the owner and from the way he talks, I think they actually have a yard and will pull parts for you. We've bought a few things from them and they've been great. Quick shipping, good packaging and have been responsive to emails. maybe becasue he's just geeked to have met a T3 freak who's a girl, but the service has still been good. check the list's web page for their new address.....it's an AOL address these days. eeeeesh, sorry for the 3 page rant.............hope this helps Matt 71 Square 71 Notch ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
