Hey, Folks. Thanks for all of your help and advice. As it turns out, I did replace the brake lines this weekend, and while I was doing that, I pulled the shoes again and studied the calipers. I noticed that the spring plates seemed to fit poorly over the two pins that hold them in place, so I filed the pin hole on each plate, until the pin could slide through easily. That seems to have been the main problem, and now my brakes are working normally again. It seems that when the brakes were rebuilt, the caliper pistons where put back slightly out of line, so that the spring plates fit in such a way that the holes wouldn't line up with the pins that slide through. In other words, the notch on top of the piston, and the spring plate lined up badly with the caliper pin holes. I just woke up, so I hope that this makes sense to everyone.
