If you haven't already, check for mechanical interference with your 
clutch cable mechanism -- maybe your fuel line has fallen in between, or 
something. Look at the clutch release arm on the transaxle: it should 
stand straight up when released. 

I can't really see how something could slip in the pedal array and make 
the clutch *tighter*, but check that out too. Look for stuff like carpet 
in the way. 

If you don't find the problem at the pedal array or the release arm, 
you'll probably have to pull the engine. I wouldn't recommend driving it 
until you get this resolved.
