I have enjoyed reading everyone's adventures. Now I have c2鹅may be interested. I have a 1964 Manx dunebuggy with a Type 3 1500-s motor. I understand that the 1500-S with dual carbs was made only one year. I spent the last year restoring it and am ready to give the fiberglass a coat of paint because the old lacquer will not retain its color. The buggy started out a 6volt and except for the starter and flywheel has been upgraded to a 12 volt system. It has a fiberglass hard top. Now for the adventure. I am probably moving overseas and will likely be selling the buggy. I thought someone in this group would be interested because of the low mileage type III 1500-S it sports. I discovered what happens when you don't torque the flywheel down properly and ended up stripping the motor all the way to the chassis and am restoring it completely. New crankshaft, bearings, etc. This time it will be really clean. The jugs, pistons and heads were miked and are fine. It has only 41,000 original miles on it. It belonged to a relative who literally only took it on Sunday drives in sunny weather. When I am done I will have rebuilt virtually everything on the buggy outside of the transmission. I haven't decided on a figure yet. I have put hundreds of hours in on this baby. Anyone interested? ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
