Hey folks. This really scared me half to death. I was driving home from my friend's house last night, when I start to hear the engine making a barely noticeable whirring noise when in higher RPM's. I figure, no problem, I've got less than a mile to make it home. All of a sudden, "BANG!" and a quiet "screech" and my generator light comes on. I immediately kill the engine and pull over. When I lifted the engine cover, I was shocked. My belt cover plate is missing(and still is MIA), and my rear half of the pulley had split in half and folded over on itself. Anyone ever seen this before? Also, anyone got a pulley half I could buy? I modified an old type 1 pulley I had laying around but it will be too big once I get another cover plate. I think maybe what caused it was a belt, which I bought from napa, that was one size too small. Even with all the spacers out, this belt has always been too tight. Anyone got the exact measurements of the T3 generator belt? I can snap a picture of this too and send it to anyone who would like to see it. Its the wierdest thing to ever happen to me. TIA.
