Has the case been rebored? This can contribute, Gene Berg didn't have too much good to say about rebored cases, can't say that I do either. I had low oil pressure with my '71 after I had had it about 6 months. When I finally built up a replacement on a new universal case and broke down the old one, I found that the bearings were 4th oversize. Time to scrap it. And if the case has been machined and not properly cleaned, you can get shavings sticking the relief valve open. If you changed oil pumps, you might not have the right match for the case and cam. You could also be overheating if the timing and mixture aren't right. Just some thoughts.
