I have owned nothing but Type 3 - the first car was a 68 Squareback. I bought it from my cousins boss who owns an auto shop. I paid a $100 for it. I drove it in H.S. - till it dumped oil all over the road. It was pretty stock 'cept Dual 40's and an S and S header w/dual quiet packs. Lowered slightly. All primer grey. The second, one of my two current cars, is a '69 Squareback. I bought this car from my brother for $50. He bought it from a guy who had a high performance Corvair 6 in it. I was told it was too wild and the transaxel was, uh, well in pieces. It now has a built transaxel with super diff and close ratio gears. And an 1835 w/dual 40's. After the car was driveable, I thought something was a little too tame. This is when I purchased a Saw-Zall. DeWalt. Cuts metal like butter. I now have a chopped squareback with no windows. I am still working on the bodywork. The other car is a '63 Notchback that has a mild amount of rust. I purchased it without a motor. It is now sitting on a '69 pan with a (I think) stock 1600 w/ 34's - a friend of mine has a spare turbo. Could be interesting in a bit. I have my eye out for a '69 Fastback. I'd love to own all three at the sametime (Fast,Square, Notch). I'm thinking targa top for the Fast.
