Re: [T3] Sound Off TYPE III Fans

Ok, because of Brian's post, I too am going to sound off. I won't
list ALL the cars I've owned over the years, just the VW's...(and
914's)...

'73 914 2.0 Beautiful blue all original show car. Fun car to drive
but every time we took it out, something broke. Got fed up and sold
it.

'69 Fastback (not the one I currently own) 2.0 T4 powered, sky blue
with custom blue/blue tweed interior, lowered in front, Awesome car,
sold it 16 years ago for smog/reg reasons.

'73 914 2.0 Restored it, liked it but was a pain in the butt parts
wise. Traded it for the Fastback above and some cash.

'76 Scirocco. Yeah, I did a stint with the waterpumpers. Was a
beautiful car, only 2 years old at the time. Had problems though for
such a new car.

'71 Super Beetle. Real nice clean driver. Bought it after I sold
the mustang!

'73 'Sport Bug' Super Beetle. Pearl yellow with flames and a mural
behind the doors in the qtr panels. Wide tires, louvers, 1.8 engine,
recarro seats. This car rocked. Sold it for a V8 '70 mustang - BIG
mistake!

?? Dune Buggy Green metalflake 2 seater pickup style job. Lots of
fun. Had it the same time as the sport bug. Shortend chassis, wore
out 40 hp 1200 engine, but would still pull the front end up!

'69 Bug Autostick. Bone stock. If I had it today I'd be a show car.
White with red interior. Beautiful car. Autostick started giving some
problems no one at the time knew how to fix so I offed it.

?? Dune Buggy My dad and I built it when I was 15. I drove it for
awhile 'till I could get a 'real' car. Now I want another one!!
Purple metalflake. Shortend chassis, 40 hp 1200 engine.

So, now I'm back into VW's with a '69 Fastback (again) Red, lowered,
flames in yellow/orange/blue, currently awaiting a new white and red
tweed interior. Stock 1600 engine with dual solex's, 009, and quiet
power header mufflers, automatic, and 2.0 wheels. This car is FUN!!
I really missed driving my T3 so this is like stepping into my past
for me!

I also am restoring a '69 Bug with factory A/C. It's going the
Cal Look route with some of the trim removed, lowered, polished alloys
yada, yada, yada. Currently stripped and repained sitting in the
garage awaiting more $$$ to finish it with. Might go T4 power in it
ah'la Joe Cali.

other currently owned cars include:
'65 Chev Corvair Corsa Turbocharged convertible (going up for sale
soon to help with the VW restorations). Show winning car. Restored it
10 years ago, time to move on with the VW's.
'86 Fiero 2m6 - my daily driver (Well it's sort of rear engined!)
'83 Grand Prix - my wife's daily driver

That's it'
