Okay, I gotta ask, who built your motor, cause I have *got* to get me one. James 71 FI aka Deathrich the Sluggard Well, I have to chime in.... I have a bone stock 71 squareback and I cruize from Iowa to Indiana (857 mi) at least once a month and I average 85 mph. I can cruize at 90-95 but I really don't like to be up there. I would prefer to run around 70 like you guys but everytime I look at the speedo I'm at 85. My pedal is no where near the floor either. I have had the needle pinned once (goes up to 100). I keep her clean and tight, no leaks in the oil or exhaust, front axel and wheel are more than reguklarly greased, and I run a little fuel injector cleaner through every 4-5th fillup. Other than that It's just the way she runs. Even i would like to put a little bigger engine in... faster acceleration, and such but I am more than happy.
