I thought of the same thing when I was trying to formulate my "popout
solution"...however, the bug/square/notch frames are rather rigid, and I
believe bending one of these frames would make it look pretty bad, like
damaged goods. Maybe if you could find someone familiar with extruded
aluminum channel he/she might have catalogs of channel cross sections, and
you might be able to find one similar to the bug/square/notch frame. At
least if you were working with a flat piece you'd only be bending it once,
as opposed to unbending and then rebending it (which might fatigue the
piece to the breaking point.
Just an idea...

Subject: [T3] fasty popout idea
With all the talk of the troubles with fasty pop outs has anyone ever
thought to take a few bug pop outs and modify the frame to fit around the
fasty window and install it in the same fasion as the T-1 .
I do realize that this wont be true T-3 but it is better than nothing.
If i did that would i be put in to the dark side or in the off white to
grey
side?
