Don't fret, my friend. There is nothing wrong in what you suggest- in fact its hard to find a type 2 owner that doesn't have at least another VW for sale, or that they would sell, or know a friend that has one for cheap... Its part of the VW gig. R.J.'s Philoso-religous VW Tantric theory part 12: VW ing comes in 3...no, fourth parts. First part is the most understandable and common- keeping them running. Whether its out of loyalty, admiration, friendship, or transportation, this consumes the majority of our time, effort, and bread. Second part is the social end of it- eventually, no matter how much we resist, we will feel an eerie bond with all other VW owners. Especially one who one our type/model, but all. Last night my tire blew out, coasting into a gas station. Miles and miles and miles from home. thrashed 68 bus pulls up to get gas, and I feel completely comfortable going up to the guy and explaining my dilemma. he drove me and my tire to a tire shop, then drove me back and helped me put the tire on. Ended up with a new friend named Steve, reaffirmed faith in VWKarma, and a lead on a good middle seat for my Achtsitzer. which brings us to the next facet... Dissemination of the philosophy. Our plan to take over the world and institute our new world order. Not really, but basically, it comes from our honest desire to sucker other people into to out gig. Were Type 3 evangelists- tell everyone how good they are, get em to buy. Its be a better world with more type 3's on the road, we say. Also to that end, we mail parts to each other 4000 miles and try to distribute any VW we find in a responsible fashion. I think brother Zoofye is acting in the greater interest of the VW crowd- just because we have our roots in dirt poor love-people, doesn't mean there's any mystique in continuing the tradition. If he can make it so another person shares the VW experience, beautiful. If he can make a buck, the worst he has done is made someone appreciate their new car a little more. (I certainly get more upset when someone scratches the $10,000 car that the $50 one...) Carry on with your previous activity, my brethren... -Swami RJ > -----Original Message----- > From: Brian and Shannon [SMTP:zoofye@micron.net] > Sent: Thursday, August 27, 1998 12:35 PM > To: a t-3 club > Subject: [T3] Stuff > > Okay, > Time to vent...I rescently got flamed because I bought my new car and > immediately put it for sale. > Brian Fye > 64 Notch Roadster (The dark, dark side) > > ------------------------------------------------------------------- Search old messages on the Web!
