>The question is...where should the semaphores go? > For semaphores in a Notch, I'd recommend the door pillar, same as the later Euro hardtop Bugs. The best thing to do would be to get a set of Bug semaphore door pillars and graft them in. They may need to reshaped a little but it would probably be easier just to have the exact rectangular cutout from a Bug plus the wiring clips and semaphore mounting stuff that's there. I'm not sure if 12-volt semaphores are available but I know of someone who used a drop-down in his 12-volt-converted Euro 58 Single Cab. Removing the front turn signals would make sense if semaphores are put in, but what about the rear? I wouldn't go with a color-matched ragtop unless your interior is White or Black, I saw one that was green to match a very nice green vinyl interior and it looked dumb, IMHO. I don't know the prospective color of your Notch, but that Black fabric they use for phantom tops is pretty nice, I've heard it called "Mercedes Cloth" but don't know if that is its formal name. -Everett "I cut a power ragtop into my GTI a while back" Barnes '55 Kombi - I can take semaphore post pics if you want... ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
