[T3] It's there, but it's missing

My '71 Sqbk is there, but it's missing. How can that be?

Hey, I'm still trying to figure out why it is we park on a driveway and
drive on a parkway!

The '71, with dual Weber ICT-34s and Pertronix ignition, idles well, runs
smoothly, has lotsa power...until I have driven about 10 miles (the distance
I must go to get from home to town each day). When I have come up on the
8 or 9 mile mark (running between 55 and 65), the engine starts missing
quite badly. After I let the vehicle sit and cool at the restaurant (my morning ritual
is an hour's worth of coffee drinking and newpaper reading), it does fine...until
I do the return trip home, then, shazam, same problem under the same circumstances.

The fuel pump puts out a good steady volume of juice. I replaced the fuel filter,
and---zilch, no improvement.

Other than perhaps re-checking all my tune-up specs, what should I be looking for?

So, my car is here but it is missing. That's okay, 'cause I'm here but apparently
not ALL here. (My wife says that whenever I walk into a room, it's almost like
somebody has left!)
