And they check for all that stuff being in place when they do smog checks around here. The machine they use has a check list for all the various bits. Have even had a guy get a mirror on a stick out to see if the charcoal canister was still there. When I got my '71, I took the fender off, there was nothing but the ends left on that surge tank. Got another off a wreck, replaced all the rubber hose. Fortunately the steel tubing to the back was still in good shape. I hose out up there periodically, seems to be a mud trap up in that corner. Got about 5O lbs. of junk out of there originally.
