Hi Everyone, On the weekend Nico and I went for a drive and have been noticing this Fastback parked in a driveway a couple blocks over for some time now....well the people just happened to be outside since they were having a garage sale and they had the car for sale! It's a 71 just like ours, it also has auto transmission. We were hoping it had some good fenders on it (since ours are taking a lot of fibreglass and bondo abuse at the moment) but on close inspection of the car it's fenders were just as bad in the same areas....if we had enough space to store it I know it would be an awesome parts car. One thing we did notice (and heard it being talked about on the news group) was the charcoal fuel filter under the left fender. When we pulled the fender off ours a month and a half ago there was nothing there but unconnected line. So my question is....is this really a necessary device? Does the car need this filter? or in Nico's words "is there a hokey solution around it possibly involving ducttape and paperclips?" hehe. -Naomi and Nico '71 Fasty enduring a fender makeover ------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe? mailto:type3-request@vwtype3.org, Subject: unsubscribe
